World Leprosy Day was observed on 30 January 2026 with the theme “Leprosy is curable, the real challenge is stigma.” An awareness programme was organized by Ahalia College of Nursing at Family Health Center, Ozhalapathy to promote knowledge about the signs, symptoms, prevention, and free treatment of leprosy and to reduce stigma associated with the disease. The programme began with a welcome speech by Mr. Praseed (Junior Health Inspector) and a felicitation by Dr. Pranav (Medical Officer In-charge). A theme speech was delivered by Mr. Mohammed Hashim Aboobacker, followed by a role play by 5th semester B.Sc. Nursing students on the signs, symptoms, treatment, and prevention of leprosy. A Leprosy Day pledge was administered by Ms. Vismaya. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Hajira (JPHN).
