Overview of the Programme

Nursing is a healthcare profession that focuses on the care of individuals and their families to help them recover from illness and maintain optimal health and quality of life. Nursing practice is a utilization of nursing knowledge through critical thinking, judgment and skill in a holistic approach for the well-being of patients. Nursing practice encompasses all of the roles and responsibilities carried out by registered nurses for health promotion, health protection, health maintenance, health restoration, rehabilitation and palliation.

The B.Sc Nursing degree program is a four-year fulltime program comprising eight semesters, which prepares B.Sc. nursing graduates qualified to practice nursing and midwifery in a variety of settings in either public / government or private healthcare settings. Students are provided with opportunities to acquire knowledge and skill related to nursing practice (nursing and midwifery) through learning in skill lab/simulated lab and clinical environment.

Ahalia College of Nursing follows the syllabus prepared by Indian Nursing Council (INC). The Nursing curriculum allows students to take part in rural and urban health camps, educational field visits, industries etc. At the end of the nursing education programme, our institution prepares graduate nurses into an admirable citizen by adhering to code of ethics and professional conduct in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities.
